Well, I was hoping to get by this year without the pumpkin nemesis - Powdery mildew. I still have some of the copper stuff from last year, so when I noticed the reemergence of the mildew, I went and hosed the plants down. This is what I had on the 27th.
And this is what I have today. I sprayed them all over last night too. I don't know how to get rid of the problem, I don't think anyone does aside from ripping out the plants, and that is not an option. I am just going to have to keep on top of it...
It looks a little rough, I know, but what else can I do? One of the plants has a vine growing about halfway across the front of the house. My hope is this vine can stay ahead of the mildew...
I do have some good news about the mini-pumpkins, well maybe not 'good news,' but at least something interesting. I saw that one of the pumpkins was really close to the blinds the other day, and I wanted to see what it would do if I left the blinds closed. The little plant decided that it would be a great idea to grow about two inches and grab hold of one of the slats and start to pull it open. Strong work pumpkins!

give me light...
