11/4/10 Five months.

As you can tell, I am trying to drag this out as long as possible.  Well, the temperature has finally dropped below that magic 32 degree mark.  The pumpkins DID NOT like that one bit.  For the most part, I don't think they like (or don't like) much of anything anymore.  It seems as though 32 degrees is the point at which pumpkins cease to be.  Their color is pretty much gone.  There are no more flowers.  And what is left is pretty much done.

However, since I have had so much luck with my little plastic friends, I am going to employ the help of some more.  I have put out a call to the army corps of engineers for help in disassembling the pumpkin patch.  I am going to have them come in and take down the watering system and clean up the area.  They seem to do good work.  I'll let you know what happens...

Ollie and Stew look pretty bored.  Maybe some new help will liven up the mood a bit.  Hind, I did vote for you and wish you luck.  And I haven't yet decided what to grow next year, but I don't think I want to wait that long to try something else.  I do already seem to be a pro at growing weeds so maybe I just had some bad seeds (see now I'm blaming the seeds-its not my fault there were no pumpkins).  Again, there is more in the works.

  1. Thank you for your vote and for your good wishes.I wish you the same for next year.Maybe Olli and Stew should learn to become farmers or gardeners instead of being cowboys, and use some gardening tools instead of their guns. This could make them more helpful next time. Hind
