12/10/10 Lets try this again...

Since my first attempt a pumpkins was a tragic failure, some in the pumpkin community think it would be best that I give up.  I have, however, chosen to persevere.  So, a little less than a month ago I thought I had all the ingredients to begin anew.  My plan was to set up a tiny pumpkin patch in my basement.

The whole thing got delayed a bit.  I have been picking up a lot of time at work, and just never got around to starting it.  Well I gave it a shot today.  There really isn't much that goes into this project.  I got the new patch a grow light, some soil and a crappy shelf.  I was setting everything up for them and got to the point that I would have been happy to plant them and came across a significant problem: someone seems to have pilfered the seeds from the starter kit.

So, I have everything ready to go and no seeds.  My first thought was to go to the garden store to purchase some new seeds.  I walk in and the entire store is filled with Christmas stuff...how does that help?  You are a garden store!  Where is your garden stuff?  The person I asked where the seed section went informed me that they send the seeds back for the of season...ugh...So, now I have a perfect place to start some pumpkins, but no seeds.

Update: my sister was nice enough to track down some new seeds for me.  Lets get the new patch going.  Please tell you friends, and check back to see how Pumpkin Patch Part II is doing...
