Bad news first...Something is killing peppers! People said it would be the bunnies that came and ate the peppers; and that I should plant marigolds to keep them out. I said, "our local bunny recently got himself road-killed, and probably wouldn't be bothering them." Turns out there may be something else that doesn't like peppers...The plants, or the peppers themselves, were not eaten; they were 'chopped' down. One slice across the stem and they were down, like done by a weed whacker or tiny tornado. I didn't do it and the weather hasn't called for tiny tornadoes lately, so I'm at a loss to the pepper slayer.
That (the bad news) being said, the good news is I planted some new peppers. And the even better news is two of the chopped down peppers are starting to grow back! One appears to be a total loss. As far as pepper security goes, I am going to try the fence route. Good fences make good neighbors...Plus fences don't need watered...I must protect the peppers!

What are the two elfs job? I thought they were guarding the peppers. You need more troops.
ReplyDeleteThis is pretty cool :) if you spray 1 tsp epsom salt in 4 c warm water on plant, 10 days later it produces more fruit due to boost of magnesium. it works really well on tomatoes, peppers and roses !
