3/11/11 The Plantation

Here is a family portrait.  I have been chopping them up into little segments to showcase each of the little pumpkin plants.  So here they all are.  Staring bottom right clockwise: Clive, Marv, Ned (just the sad little dead remnant of Ned), Pogo, Alice, and Dennis.  The Next two don't have names yet.  The Picture following the family is an inset of Pogo Alice and Dennis.  If you have any ideas on names, let me know.

The happy little family is coming along.  I haven't had to water them much to lately, the soil stays very moist.  I hope that is ok and they are not over watered.  That would indeed be tragic.  I have to believe that it is not too much because they are not all dying.

It may, on the other hand be too much, but I really have no idea.  I have never tried to grow pumpkin pants in the winter in my basement before.

It is the middle of March, I know, but I am glad to have the pumpkins inside as it snowed about 6 inches yesterday.  Take a look at Clive, He has come a long way now too.  There should be flowers any day now...kidding...it will probably take a really ling time...

  1. What's in the red pot? How many plants do you have that need names? It seems that they are taking there good old time growing.

  2. I am so excited! I haven't checked in in awhile and I found your wonderful plants! I am voting for names like "chowder" and "pie." Maybe even "custard." This is of course, from a woman who named her kid's goldfish "Lent" due to its impressive size. _ Brandy
