The guards are still standing strong. They have done their jobs all year, but I think an enemy stronger than the bugs and the rabbits is nearly here. I have been in some cold weather this year. It was 35 in the Grand Canyon at night when I was there, and its going to be 38 here tonight. Thankfully the virtual pumpkins are temperature resistant. I did, however, put tiny blankets around the stealth pumpkins.
There is another enemy gathering on the lake. I have been waging my own war on them almost since I moved in. Ollie, Stew, Fluffy and the wolf have kept them out so far, but these guys are relentless. There are more and more every day, and they leave presents everywhere they go. If only they weren't protected by the government. I wonder what they had to do to get preferential treatment, they have nothing to offer. Your tax dollars at work again. There should be a government program for pumpkins and pumpkin growers, not the damn geese...
