1/6/11 Pumpkin Pie...

Ok, first to answer the question from the last post.  No, pumpkin seeds are only seeds. they have no gender.   All plants grow both male and female flowers.  That was the problem with the earlier version of the pumpkin patch, no girl flowers, no pumpkins.  I hope the more controlled growing environment of the new patch will offer a better chance at pumpkining...

And now; I went down to the basement to check to see if there was any progress in the new patch and to take a few pictures regardless of said progress.  While I was taking the pictures it struck me as odd that the pumpkins are trying to grow in a baking pan.  I hope they never come to realize this, as it is most certainly cruel irony...Anyhow, as seen by exhibit 'A' there is no progress, or at least visible progress.  Perhaps something green by the end of the week or at latest early next week.  Fingers crossed.
