9/10/10 been busy...

Sorry, I guess I missed a few days.  I have been a bit busy, this was anticipated, hence the automatic watering system.  I am keeping an eye on the pumpkins, but there has not been very much progress in the actual pumpkin making process.  The flowers are still coming though (boys only, no girls yet).

In pumpkin news, there has been a new world record set for the longest pumpkin launch.  The annual Pumpkin Chunkin contest isn't until November 5th, but I guess you can get some practice in any time, as long as you do it right.  I heard on the radio today that a team with members from Pennsylvania, Delaware, and New Jersey dubbed 'The Big Ten,' in reference to the size of their cannon's bore, launched a pumpkin more than a mile.  They acheived this feat in Moab, Utah.  They supposedly picked Moab because of the elevation and thinner air.  They used a 90 foot long compressed air cannon and launched their 9.5 pound pumpkin 5300 feet.  (in other news, there is apparently a man in columbia that is only 27 inches tall)

The pumpkins continue to grow.  For some reason A decided it would be a good idea to be upside down for a while, but that situation has been resolved.  Also, A's scraggly little offshoot finally had it's first flower.
