Not only do the pumpkins have some new scenery, but they also have some new thing to grab hold of (not just the gas line anymore). I have to wonder what the home owners association would say about this, probably nothing good...I haven't seen any lawn ornaments in other yards, but I haven't really been looking. It is nice, however, to have plausible deniability in the case of the flamingos; "sorry, I have no idea what you are talking about, and even less of an idea on how they got there."
For those of you that follow the pumpkin news as I do, there was a particularly grim announcement today. Apparently there is going to be a pumpkin shortage this year. I heard it first on the weather channel, but couldn't believe it. But it's true folks, I am not the only one to be failing at growing pumpkins. The weather has just not been cooperating for them. It is either too hot, too cold, too dry, or too wet...pumpkins are picky little plants.Remember when I said that pumpkin vines could be trained to go where you want, even up to the roof? Well 2 looks like it is giving it the old college try.
They said this last year, and people went nuts buying up all the canned pumpkin they could lay hands on. Still, somehow, there remained enough to go around. - BD
