9/6/10 Why is Labor day?
Does Labor Day have anything to do with pumpkins? Not really...It's from 1882 and the first one was actually on September 5th. Labor day was a day for President Grover Cleveland to appease the labor unions. Labor day (at least now) is the traditional end of summer. That is not a good thing for pumpkins, or at least my pumpkins in as much as they are really just pumpkin plants and have not yet begun to be pumpkins.
A and 2 do still seem to be enjoying the water though. Every day they have a new flower or two. Still waiting on the first girl though. A was also nice enough to give a flower to fluffy. We need a few more warm days (fingers crossed). I don't want to build a greenhouse...I suppose, however, if need be, I could transplant them to my basement with some grow lights.

Is that a girl flower to Fluffy's right? Maybe? ** fingers crossed **
ReplyDelete"transplant them to my basement with some grow lights." Have you SEEN Little Shop of Horrors?!?!? Instead of "A' and "2" you'll be calling them Audrey 3 and 4 and feeding them your own blood. "Feed me, Dave...feed me all night long..." -BD
